Dear Neighbor: So, I’m running for Alderman here in east Rogers Park. I feel I’m well qualified but much more importantly I consider myself a pretty cerebral and progressive guy. Our current guy hasn’t done much recently to be progressive. Where are the laws to help the poor? The minorities? Protect women’s rights? He voted with Daley about 95 percent of the time, and with Rahm about 97 percent of the time. Just how progressive could he be? As for me, well I’ve been most fortunate to live in a lovely place east of Sheridan, steps from the lake. I’ve been there over 50 years. I walked over to see the wall get painted, it was great. Then, of course, there is my law, real estate and construction business that I’ve maintained in east Rogers Park more than 30 years now. And finally, on the side, I run the GLBQT food pantry right along with some five other charities including: a woodshop (available), a social club, and a church; making for a true saints and sinners building (gotta have a party). No independent candidate has made it onto the ballot here in east Rogers Park in more than 20years. I’d like to make the ballot. I’d appreciate your support.
